It's Friday, I'll do what I Want!

It's kind of rainy and gloomy around here today in the PNW, but it's Friday, I'm excited and ready to go for another slammed busy weekend!!!

So for everyones Fab Friday here are a few people that just leave me speechless!

Windy Oak Farm, I like your facility, I think you have some decent horses, but for the love of GOD get rid of whomever is jumping your damn horses. If that's your trainer, Lisa, then holy moly parents grab your kids and run far, far away from there. She is just a TRAIN WRECK of a rider. I understand that everyone gets thrown off balance every now and then and so photos can be slightly misleading, but EVERY PHOTO this lady is in looks the same. Stirrups wayyyy too long, heels jacked up into the horse's flank and laying totally on the horses neck. Wowzers!! Here's the DreamHorse Ad~ http://www.dreamhorse.com/show_horse.php?form_horse_id=1335573

Here's some more styling pics of wonder trainer...http://windyoakfarm.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=15

I'd be a liar if I said I knew a lot about barrel racing, but this girl just looks way off in the saddle, I've seen normal barrel racing but have yet to see a rider look like this in the saddle. Look, we all know how I feel about using lame pictures for your ad. SO STOP IT!!! http://www.dreamhorse.com/show_horse.php?form_horse_id=1289397

Cute horse, OK rider, but what the hell is she looking at? Now as a jumper myself, it is a fact that you are ALWAYS supposed to be looking towards the next jump. Planning ahead, making your next move, but damn. Either she's REALLY planning ahead, or it's Linda Blair on horseback...

How about a few updates now?? So Diamond, the 2 yr QH mare that my clients hubby bought has settled in nicely!! And she's as cute as could be! She's a trooper and very accepting of new things. *phew*
<-----------Lil Diamond!

The mare I have in training right now, Reign, that I got from the bitch from hell, is doing considerably better. She has brakes now and is understanding what it means to be relaxed under saddle! She'll turn out just fine.
Everyone have a great weekend! Go out and hug your ponies!!! Give 'em a big Ol Moochie from me!!!

She also isn't wearing a helmet, which drives me nuts- your thoughts?

Hey, I got your terrible leg position AND Linda Blair on horseback right.here. http://horsetopia.horse-for-sale.org/classifieds/ad348715

And then there's this one: http://oklahomafuglyhorseoftheday.blogspot.com/2008/12/just-when-i-thought-i-was-finished.html

Obviously bad riding is an epidemic. Poor George Morris, he has so much work and soooo little time...

Reagan - I'm one of the over 18 crowd that doesn't typically wear a helmet. I catch a lot of flak for it, but I really do believe that as an adult, it's the choice of the person. I will don a helmet when riding a horse I've never ridden before, or a confirmed problem horse but for the most part I'm riding my own horse who I've owned and trained since birth and in 10 years, had one fall off of (put her at a fence to big for her, and yes I WAS wearing a helmet that time). I live in a downtown capital city - I just feel I have bigger things to worry about then a helmet riding passive backyard horses. However, if I was jumping constantly as a living, yes, I would definately wear one. I understand my own personal safety zone, and determine if the situation calls for one. A really good example would be the fact that most Dressage riders do not wear helmets - obviously as they don't wear them in the ring. Yet I've seen them throw one on if they're working a really green/young horse. So I really do think it comes down to a decision - for me personally, we have blazing hot summer and I've actually fallen from my horse before because I overheat so bad in a helmet. And in winter, we're out in open fields in -40. Sorry, my warm fuzzy hat wins over a helmet!

Helmets are an adult choice, however I would like to say that I really believe that if you're jumping or on a problem/new/dangerous horse, then yes you really should wear one. NO ONE is that good!! Especially when someone jumps as badly as the lady in that pic does LOLZ!!!!

Thanks TX!
Yeah, that first rider has the classic "pickle up her butt" equitation "pose" that serves no good purpose in this life. Good thing the fences are little. You can look "pretty" and still be pretty ineffectual. Another one who needs to learn to let the HORSE do the jumping. I used to ride like that. Couldn't figure out why my horses always knocked a rail in front. Well, duh! There's this heavy person on top of the horse's neck, pushing him down!!
Can you say "Crest Release" with no actual release? of course you can.
Golly, when will people ever figure that OUT?? An automatic release is never, ever seen these days. As I've said, the pros do it so the ammies don't feel so stoopid.

Linda Blair!!! ROFLMAO!!
Thanks for the giggle. I need it, after fugs blog today:(

scritches to all withers! Big horsie schlobbers to you all:)

Oh man TX you found a few gems...

I do have BR experience and that girls is lucky she didn't turn wider because that s****y seat would have pulled him right down... I've seen it happen :(

As for the jumper/trainer person... no jumping experience but even I can see that lady has weirdo equitation. I would never, ever guess she was a trainer. Her stirrups look like their set for someone way taller than her. And is she wearing Western chaps? lol that's what they look like...

Trainer X said...

Thejumping pic wouldn't be all that bad if she's correct the lower half of her body!! But, that'll never happen. You know us trainers, we know it ALL!! *j/k* LMAO!!! ;);););)

Big ol Moochies and Slobbers all around.

Y'all know nothing attracts dirt and boogers faster than a clean shirt around horses!

Helmets are a choice for adults, but not youth riders at our place.

Still when jumping I wear mine. You just never know. It is lightweight and well ventilated. If it is too hot for me to ride, it is to hot for the horse to be working.

I insist that students wear helmets, so I wear one myself. We are examples, and the kids are watching!

This is completely off topic, but I wanted to share this with people who would find this as funny as I do...

If you do the math, its like $3 an hour. I sent him a message stating that it was less than minimum wage, and that he would probably have hard time finding someone interested. It was a VERY nice email. I even said Happy Holidays! : )

This is what he said:

"FIRST AND LAST OF ALL I WOULDNT HIRE YOUR BLACK ASS 2 WATCH MY KIDS SO GET A DAMN LIFE AND MOVE ON TO THE NEXT ADD."

Funny thing is, I am white. A little asian, but mostly white. Did he assume I was black because my name is Lachelle? He must be a wonderful father....

Sorry for the OT...

By the way. If you check out that lady's website, and go to her Stallion's page. And scroll all the way down...

Mark? Wtf?

Anonymous said...

Also if you click Mark's link it goes to Oprah.com.

Double WTF!

And one of "their" stallions actually stands at Silver Creek Farm, which is right down the road from me. Weird.

V. Lachelle Henderson said...

Apparently she breeds her horses to Oprah?

Hm... that's new. Maybe it gives her foals a nice disposition.

Trainer X said...

Geez Lachelle, some people can be so rude! What an ass! *snort* As far as that website I'm noticing it gets more and more creepy LMAO!!!

Nicole Falk said...

Trainer X - I fully agree! I'm not to proud to suck it up and throw a helmet on when the new recruite greets me by rearing straight up with ears pinned *chuckles*

I do admit that for the first time this weekend, I let the minors (14 years old) ride without helmets. Why? I am damn sorry, but there is NO way to keep warm with a helmet on in -40 on the prairies! I couldn't even believe they came out! I figured they were just walking and jogging our old reliable as dirt mare around a pasture with three feet of drifting and blowing snow under supervision...if they managed to get hurt, I don't think a helmet would have saved them! I give those kids credit though - after 2 hours, I finally put my VERY frozen foot down and demanded we put pony away and go inside! MY DAMN EYELASHES FROZE TOGETHER!!!

/end rant. I hate winter.

Oh and I forgot to mention they are in Florida and Silver Creek and I are in Oklahoma.

It looks like all "their" stallions are actaully owned by other barns, creepy indeed...

Good riding is the same whether your in a western saddle, english, bareback, whatever. Being out of position screws the horse up, be it over a jump or around a barrel. And I can PROMISE you that barrel came down in the pic of that lovely rider who looks like she was slapping tack BIG TIME.

And the few times I have jumped, I'm sure I looked like shit. I don't have to be a rockstar to figure that out, and I sure as hell could spot it in a picture. So WTF? Why post pictures of yourself like that? Even I can tell that laying over the horse like that doesn't look right.

But oh well...

2toads2luv said...

PS... Bet Diamond never gets kissed on that cute spot on her nose, does she???? ;-)

Trainer X said...

2Toads~ Oh no Diamond never gets kissed... HAHAHAHA ;)

You know that is always a mystery to me. WHY if you look like ass in a pic would you display it for the world to see?!?!?!

2toads2luv said...

Can you say narcissist?

Trainer X said...

Can you say quadrapalegic??? *snork*
