Stretched Thin

EEK, this is going to be one hell of a weekend. Tomorrow I have to drive out to Ocean Shores which is about 2.5 hours away to go to a wedding at 1. Then ZIP back to the barn to get my students, my training horses and my own self and horse ready for the show on Saturday. There are a couple of "Show Virgins" going WOOHOO, so it makes things a BIT more stressful. I haven't even cleaned my own tack or figured out what I'm doing I've been so slammed this week with lessons and training. *Sigh* So the trailer will packed up tomorrow night with tack, horses will be scrubbed, last minute lessons and training tweaks will be done, then Saturday all I need to do is hook up, load up and GO!!!!! Will let you know how it goes :)

What's it like when you get ready for a show??? Are you a planner or procrastinator???

Firstly, Good luck and have fun at the show tomorrow!

Since I moved up here to the mountains, I've only been to a handful of local shows, which were not that appealing. But when I was showing monthly, I was a planner. I made a list, started getting all my cloths, clean tack, etc. days before. Bathed my horse on Thursday. On Fridays I took a half day off from work the day before the show to braid, load up and haul on over that evening, unload and school too! I also hauled a gal's 2 horses to & from the show one year.

So yes, I was stretched thin and completely exhausted! I do NOT have the energy for showing now, let alone for the daily training regimen that it takes to get show ready... sigh

:) It is going to be SO MUCH FUN on Saturday. There will be 9 horses there between all of us ~ WOOHOO!! (Yes, they are bringing a 2nd trailer!! We knew it!! LOL)

I am a planner - Both of my horses are clipped and we've been practicing all week long. I still have to bathe them both, and braid Sug's mane. I think I will also band Cowboy’s mane, but I’m not 100% sure... It sort of splits half way down his neck and looks messy. I am taking off half of today to get it all finished.
See you at the show tomorrow!!

I am the 'boring' planner, my riding buddy is the 'exciting' procrastinator. Together we eventually get there and have a good time. Especially after a couple of margaritas! LOL
