Keep Rollin'

I'm beat tonight. I was up early this morning helping a close friend of mine. She runs a small rescue operation and she found an AMAZING home for one of her horses. An older Saddlebred mare. The mare had been run through the auction several times, was beat into a trailer and severely abused all around. My friend got her, rehabbed her and I trailered her to paradise! The family she went too were some of the nicest people I'd ever met. They were thrilled to have their new horse friend home. They immediately started grooming her and loving on her and invited me to stay for dinner. OH so awesome people! The only bad part was the roughly 200 mile round trip drive for me LOL! I sincerely wish there were more kind people like them, to adopt such a wonderful horse and To my friend, A job well done, She will be forever happy in her new home!!

With all the craziness in the horse world here lately its nice to know that there are still good horse people out there! What a great story to end the day with!

That's great to hear! It's great to see that there are still people who don't mind an older horse that likely can't ride... just enjoy! Sounds good to me!

A co-worker told me today that she found the perfect home for her much loved 28 year old Arabian mare. This horse was the one her husband actually rode right up to the life flight helicopter ten years ago so they could ease him onto a stretcher as he was having a heart attack while hunting. She knew she had to take care of her rider and he needed help. Elaine is working too much to give her mare the time and special treatment she deserves. Now this good old girl has a couple very loved grandchildren to take care of under grandpa's watchful eye. The grandpa couldn't believe they would just give away such a lovely horse but the good home was all that mattered.

My neighbor just had a beautiful and well-trained 20 yr old mare given to her. We, in turn, passed on her former horse to a new little girl that needed a confidence builder. I love being able to share horses like these that help bring up better riders under the eyes of responsible parents and trainers.
