I'm Seething With Jealousy!!!

I wish, as a trainer and breeder that I could have such rockin' horses! I wish my site was this awesome too! http://hollowcreekhorsefarm.com/Home_Page.html *HEAD DESK* Their stallions are wretched and it appears that the foals they produce are just as bad. They're a conformation nightmare. They're cow hocked, their cannon bones are super vertical, it just looks likes such a mess. And WHY if you have paints are you taking pics of ALL of them standing parked out like a saddlebreds???? Do I hear the gelding bus coming??? I wish...

Ahhh I just ran across this site and thought it was way too good not to share. And yet we still wonder why there are so many unwanted horses out there, when "gems" like these are being bred hand over fist, polluting our already OVER populated horse market with more butt ugly horses that we don't need and that we can't find homes for...

Heyy! That's over here on my end of the country.

One thing that we are not lacking over here in VA is grade paint horses. They are ugly, poorly conformed, and over priced.

I also must share this website of another VA farm with you...

This site just....irks me.
It is so cluttered. And the pictures of everyone riding in chair seats kills me. Although I will say, most of their horses ARE very appropriately priced for their breeding (or lack thereof) and training.

All I have to say is, why do the karma gods love these people and not me??

I have impeccable spelling and grammar, I would never post a picture of my ass as the homepage, and my horses are well-bred and beautiful.

So why do they get 30 acres in Virginia with barns and indoor arenas, and I get 5 acres in Florida with a flooded round pen?

See the eye on that chestnut Coolio foal? I always get nervous when I see a horse with that stare. Don't like it.

Oh, but the riding skills, Tx.
They are really impressive.

(sarcasm there, muchly, muchly)

Chair seats, anyone?
Would you like a beverage with that?

Life just ain't fair.

To Horses. Come and get MEEEEEE.

Their horses all look hungry. Not starving...but difinately hungry. There is no perk in any of the horses on their site. I was looking for studs and thought I was looking at all geldings and then I went and read the descriptions...poor horses.

I saw the chair seats...where do people learn to ride like that? It's got to hurt both the horse and the rider.

That farm looks like horse traders.

@lachelle- I was looking through that link at the for sale horses. I came across one jumping and thought to myself, well, at least the rider has a decent position. And then I realized she was jumping the oxer backwards.

Here's my eekkk site:

Did anyone look at the horses for sale page in http://hiddencreekva.com?
OMG, two men holding the feet of a man standing on his head whilst a horse and rider JUMO OVER HIM?

V. Lachelle Henderson said...

@brat

haha. I just saw the picture you were talking about. Which is the ONLY picture of anyone on that site with good form over jumps.

Also. Have they ever heard of helmets?

@sandycreek

That picture you're referring to is just a popular internet pic that gets posted randomly on websites. It's definitely not any of their horses or riders.

I'm not sure if I am more appalled at the breeding OR that they are TEACHING.

There is a saying, "Those that can't do, teach."

I can think of many situations where that is not true, but here, it is and it is evident in their students.

So many things wrong with the website, but I can tell why you are jealous, LOL!. I love the halter fit on the stallions, classic!

I like how Pumpkin is OUT of a stallion (Zippo Pine Bar) and they think the horse is going to grow another 3 inches although he is already 5! Wishful thinking!!!

I still love the professionalisim of the ass on the frontpage and competing in a tank top. Way to take things seriously!!!

Thanks for the laughs!!

This is why I'm delusional. I see sites like this all the time on blogs and other social sites. I thought to myself, if those idiots can do it, surely I will do much better with my stud.

Well I guess the fundamental problem is that I'm not willing to let the rif-raf book. It isn't like they are banging down my door. I just can't imagine horses like that making anybody other than the meat man any money.

LMFAO!! I swear there are 20 bad sites for every 1 good site.... The same with trainers too LOL! 20:1 HAHAHAHA Oh heaven help us!!

Hi,

I stumbled upon your Blog while doing a search about horses on Google. It then came to my attention that your blog is popular. Are you aware that you could be making an income with your blog? You should check out www.bloggingtothebank.com. It's a site that shows you how to generate an income off of your blog. It's 100% risk free. I tried it and am very satisfied with the results.

This farm as GOT to be run by teenage girls.
1.) Somebody PLEASE buy those people a leather punch so they can adjust there apparently one show halter up off the end of each horse's nose!
2.) If they are going to be breeding, they should know that their mini stallion is NOT a Paint, but a pinto. And the cow pie piles of manure are so attractive in the photo too.
3.) All their stallions need a low jump over a wire fence to turn them into geldings. I don't think I've seen such long backs and awful conformation on a group of "breeding" stallions in my life - even among them penned together in the kill pen. Has any of them EVER done ANYTHING other than eat, poop, and breed? When your stallion's stud fee is $300, you gotta wonder if that's what the owner thinks his services are worth, why would you want to produce more of the same? Run mares run, run far away, and keep your tails clamped!

I agree with the earlier comment regarding karma. I'm halfway through my Masters and have been a member of Mensa since I was fourteen. How the heck did I end up boarding my horse in crappy Cleveland while they get thirty acres in Virginia? Then again, I love my gelding and wouldn't trade him for the world, let alone one of those fugly "breeding" stallions.

That said, I would like to echo the earlier comments about the riders in chair seats. I hate chair seats, but I'll bet the horses loathe it even more. Can you imagine all that weight mercilessly jabbing the horse's loin when they ride like that? One of my favorite sayings while I teach lessons is, "The horse is not a recliner; sit up!"

I like how the very first pic that greets you on their site is a horse's ass.

Which really is sort of appropriate, if you think about it.

lachellesays... I looked at the hidden creek site.. didn't see the chair seats.. did they remove them maybe?

That site is pretty busy.. but i think a lot of the pics we are seeing are of people who are there for lessons/trail rides maybe.. possibly to show the horse being ridden by different level riders?

The horses are pretty well priced though.. I agree for what they are. Most people are wearing helmets.. not too bad, but it is realy busy..lots of information to take in all at once.

to the folks who wish they had 30 acres in va.. well.. usually where it is affordable, you have a pretty long commute. I have 65 acres, but I have to commute about an hour (sometimes a little more) to Richmond.. but the land was a good value.. you can still get bigger parcels for about 3500/acre (no house.. and probably clear cut, but nice just the same). I actually have a 143 acre piece of land w/a tobacco barn I will sell for that:) About an hour from Richmond.

I went and copied and pasted the links to some of their pictures...they specialize in lazy boy recliners...LOL! Actually I think they ride like they do because they might be use to gaited horses..I have noticed in my area that a lot of people who ride gaited horses tend to ride every horse this way.

LMAO Union Square - you're so right! We're working our asses off to get a property of our own so that we can have our horses at home, take in some more OTTB's, and perhaps raise a few of our own, yet these guys seem to be born with it all and are not even making proper use of it!! Hahaha. Too bad - oh well, lol.

That Hidden Creek farm isn't so bad...not the greatest riding style of course, but they've got some half-decent horses and even a couple of really nice ones. It doesn't seem like they breed them anyways, but that they deal in horses. What a tough website to navigate though!

Sandycreek...that seems to be at a police academy of sorts, so I'm sure it's safe and professional.

Trainer X
And then we have to undo the mistakes of those 20 trainers!

ZOMG!!!!

That place made my stomach hurt.

The horrible spelling .... the craptastic horses.... clueless people....

There are plenty of fugly grade paint horses around here, too.

Though Id take some of the grades over some of the post-legged, thimble-footed registered ones.

If those horses on their web site are worth $13,000, then mine are worth $40,000. I love the dressage show photo of the Paint with the saddle up on his NECK. Wonder what the judge had to say about that. "Your horse has so much thrust, apparently he launched your saddle clear up on his neck."
The weak pasterns on some of those youngsters were just plain scary, typical stuff you see in auctions barns every weekend. Yet, they have a "to die for" indoor area. Go figure!
